Your social media bio is just as important as a business card. It’s the first thing people look at after reading your post, and that makes the bio your first chance to make a good impression. Your bio is a critically important marketing tool that can either help win over potential clients or drive them away. Does your online bio reflect your current business and life, or could it use a refresh? Are you new to the industry and struggling with what to write and how to frame it? At our March program meeting, Nate Hoffelder, an expert on websites and marketing for authors and editors, will introduce you to the different-length bios used on various platforms, as well as explain what your bio needs to say to both pitch your services to potential clients and add a personal touch. He will also provide a set of questions you can use to draft or update your bio.
Nate Hoffelder has been helping people fix broken tech since 2010. He turns broken-down WordPress sites into sites that convert visitors into superfans. He also builds sites from scratch and helps authors with their social media and newsletters.
Nate is on the board of the Florida Writers Foundation and helps writer groups with their websites. He has presented sessions on websites and marketing tools for editors at EFA and ACES conferences and offers website-building services for editors. When he is not volunteering, he writes bad jokes on Twitter and creates memes and graphics. In his spare time, Nate maintains three Little Free Libraries.
